Learning to swim is one of the most empowering skills a child can acquire — both for safety and for sport. At Sikri Junior Academy, we take both dimensions seriously.
Our Swimming & Water Safety programme is led by qualified swimming coaches and structured around the swimmer's individual ability. Beginners are welcomed with patience and encouragement; developing swimmers refine their stroke technique; and gifted swimmers are invited to join our competitive squad for inter-school and county-level events.
Beyond performance, we embed essential water safety awareness in every session — ensuring every learner understands how to stay safe in and around water.
Every swimmer begins where they are and progresses at their own pace through our three-level pathway, guided by expert coaches.
For learners who are new to the pool or still building comfort in the water. Small groups, patient coaching, and a focus on floating, breathing, and basic movement. No pressure — just joy.
For swimmers who can move through the water independently. This level introduces freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly technique, alongside turns, starts, and distance building.
By invitation for talented swimmers. The squad trains multiple times per week with race-pace sets, race strategy, and dryland conditioning, preparing for inter-school and county galas.
Water safety is not an optional extra at Sikri Junior — it is woven into every session, every level, every learner's experience.
Qualified coaches and lifeguards present at every session, with strict learner-to-instructor ratios maintained.
Age-appropriate water rescue and self-rescue concepts introduced across all levels — a vital life skill.
Learners only advance when they are genuinely ready — building water confidence rather than bypassing it.
My daughter was terrified of water when she joined. Within one term she was swimming a full length unaided. The patience and professionalism of the swimming coaches here is extraordinary.
